Moving Around In an Application
- File - Allows you to create a new record, edit, delete and save records; cancel, print; and exit the application. Includes short cut keys on the right side of the screen, for example, New can be accessed by using CTRL+N.
- Tools - Displays tasks that can be accessed, some of which are set by System Options. If you are able to Toggle Pages between tabs, it will be accessed here (F6).
- View – Display viewing options if available.
- Inquiries - Allows you to access available inquiries for this application. These may be assigned in the System Maintenance program under Assigning Inquiries/Reports to an Application.
- Reports - Allows you to review available reports for this application. These may be assigned in the System Maintenance program under Assigning Inquiries/Reports to an Application.
- Desktop- Allows you to save and restore desktop settings or restore the default settings. Selections include Save Settings, Restore Desktop (for Restore Desktop settings) and Restore Defaults (for Restore Default Settings). Then Save Settings when completed.
- Help- Gives you access to the help screens.
Also, below the Toolbar, are icons that allow the user to create a New record, Edit, Save, Delete, Save, Cancel, View/Scan or Show Image in applications where these commands are necessary. To learn which command the icon possesses, place the cursor on the icon without clicking on it and a box will appear describing the function performed.
When a grid is displayed in an application listing information, generally the user will have the ability to resort a column alphabetically by clicking on the column name once.
To resort it alphabetically in reverse order click on the column name twice.
