Location Description Master File

(LocDesc.exe) In this application, the user may create and describe the locations in your facility to which you will assign items. 

Adding a Location

Key in CTRL+N, click the New icon or select File then New from the application menu to begin entering a new location. In the Location field, enter in the unique code for the location. It can be up to 8 characters. Then, type the description of the location in the field to the right. Enter the Entity using the drop down.  Enter the Default Ship To using the drop down.  Enter a Default Deliver To if applicable, this would apply to Purchase Orders created from the Stock Reorder program. Select a Type using the drop down. The Active box will check when entering a new Location, but may be unchecked by the user to de-activate if necessary. The user may check the Use Two Step Receiving if utilizing the 2 Step Receiving Process. Use the Memo field for any additional comments. You may have multiple stock and non-stock locations. Finally, key in CTRL+S, click the Save icon or File then Save to save the record.

Deleting a Location

To delete a record, first select the record you want to delete. You can use the lookup function to accomplish this. Then key in CTRL+D, click the Delete icon or choose File then Delete from the application menu. Answer yes to the question asking you if you are sure you want to delete the record.

 

There is the ability to export information by selecting Tools on the Application menu and then Export Grid. The user may then choose the Export Format in the drop down.
