Kit Master File
(KitMast.exe) This program is associated with the Kit program and is necessary when Building a Kit.
Select Location or use the drop down, enter the Kit's Material Code or use the lookup (The Kit name should appear in the box to the right). The cursor is in the Material Code field. To enter the first component, click the New icon and enter the Material Code, check the Unit of Issue using the drop down, enter Quantity, click the Save icon (the component will drop into the lower box), click the New icon to enter the next component and follow same steps until complete. Please be aware that the item must be a Type in the Loc tab of the Inventory Master File that has an On Hand and is issuable.
In the Tools menu, the user may Add Items from Kit, which will require a Location and the Kit Material Code to be selected before adding to this kit. Also, may View Prior Log Files where the user may select a log file by double clicking on it to display in Notepad.
This process will allow the user to build a kit from components in a specified stock location and issue the kit.
In the Inventory Master File, you will build the item as you would any other Material Code, with the exception that you will click on the Kit box on the IMF tab. This will create KIT as the Vendor ID on the Vendor tab or what is set in the System Option, Kit Vendor in the Material Management module. This value must also be built in the Vendor Master File.
In the Kit Master File (under Master File Maintenance), select Location or use the drop down, enter the Kit's Material Code or use the lookup (The Kit name should appear in the box to the right). The cursor is in the Material Code field. To enter the first component, click the New icon and enter the Material Code, check the Unit of Issue using the drop down, enter Quantity, click the Save icon (the component will drop into the lower box), click the New icon to enter the next component and follow same steps until complete.
Go to Build Kits, in the Inventory Control module, select Location or use the drop down, enter the Kit Material Code or use the lookup, enter the Quantity and press enter. You will see a box that will run to completion. This process will decrement the components of the Kit and increment the On Hand by the quantity entered.
If checking Build on Issue on the IMF tab, this will display all items contained in the kit on the Issue Inventory screen when being issued and will automatically build another kit from items in stock, decrementing those items and increment the On Hand quantity of the kit. After running the initial Build Kits amount, then check Build on Issue in the IMF as it will not display in Build Kits once it is checked for Build on Issue.
