Calculate Reorder Points
(ROQBuild.exe) This program will calculate the reorder points for a selected Location based on the parameters chosen. The method of selection may be elected by choosing one of 2 tabs: Process by Location or Process by Material Code. If the Process by Location tab is selected the choice of parameters are by Location (using the drop down), Vendor or All Vendors, and Product Class (using the drop down). May choose to Include Only Active Items by using the check box. If the Process by Material Code tab is selected the choice of parameters are by Location (using the drop down) and Material Code(s), by entering or using the lookup, and pressing the Add button to increment the list below. There are also Delete and Clear buttons if needed. After the selections are made for either tab, choose the parameters for the number of times ordered per week, days of safety stock , months of issue history, as well as lead days (Vendor Average or Common Lead Days), and may include transfers if indicated. When your parameters are set, press the Calculate button at the bottom of the program. When this completes, an Information box appears stating "Done". Press the OK button. To view the Calculated Reorder Points, run the Calculated Reorder Points Report.
Please be aware that any item with a recommended ROP, Min, and Max of 0 in any of the three columns in the Calculated Changes section will not update in the Inventory Master File. These must be done manually. After running the Calculated Reorder Points Report, rerun it and choose to Show Items with a Recommended Report Point of Zero to display these items.
Under the Tools menu, the user can Save Settings for Location, and then View Saved Settings, whereby a screen will display with all Locations saved settings. Location settings may be deleted using this screen.
The formula for calculating the Reorder Point (ROP) is as follows: Lead Days (either based on the Average Vendor Lead Days as calculated by the system or entered by the user) plus Order Days (times per week) plus the Safety Stock Days times the Average Daily Usage.
The formula for calculating the Reorder Quantity (ROQ) is as follows: Average Monthly Usage divided by the Times Ordered per Month.
The formula for Max is the Reorder Point (ROP) plus Reorder Quantity (ROQ).
The formula for Min is Safety Stock Days times the Average Monthly Usage.
